Salted Springs Youth Ranch

Helping young people leave the past, make a way through tough times,

and allow scars to become symbols of God’s grace.

We assist—not replace—your family

We are a faith-based non-profit organization located in Duncansville, Pennsylvania. From mentoring needed in the life of a young person intervention needed for a young person spiraling out of control, we want to come alongside your family to help.

Hello, we are Dave and Beth Ann Huston.

God gave us a burden for a ministry like this back in 1984-1985 and has continued it over the years with the adoption of a sibling group of five, taking in several different young people into our home, and assisting families when children came to a place of being “at risk.” Finally, it became obvious that the Lord was leading us to officially start a ministry for “at risk” young people.

Any young person whose life seems to be “headed in the wrong direction” without some intervention could fit into the description "at risk." This does not always mean that they are destructive, in trouble all the time, or always “acting out.” It can also show itself through depression, an extreme desire to be alone, or many other behaviors. Please understand, all “at risk” young people are not the ones considered to be “the bad kid.” Yes, your quiet, “good kid” can be just as much “at risk” as the rascal.

Our Program

Horses

These amazing creatures make an incredible difference as your child develops a relationship with them. We give riding instruction, play arena games, and go on trail rides. No previous riding experience is necessary.

Humans

Relationships with others

Hard Work

While we have a lot of fun, we also teach kids how to work hard. From stacking hay to setting up fences for the pasture, there are plenty of learning opportunities.

Heavenly Father

Building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is our biggest goal. We begin each afternoon with prayer and a devotional time and have weekly Scripture memory verses.

What People Say

The Bible tells us to bear one another's burdens. Salted Springs Youth Ranch and Pastor Dave did just that for my family. I watched my children gain confidence, learn to trust and eventually use their own personal stories to help others overcome similar hurts. I will be forever thankful for this ministry.

Tina

Parent

In my early junior years of high school, I participated in the first few years of the program. I was, and still am, very pleased with the outcome that came from just my few years of participation at SSYR. If someone would choose to participate in the program of SSYR, I can say whole-heartedly state that what he learns will positively influence him for the rest of his life.
